Hotel Nation Montmartre

I arrived at night to check in with my friend, and the receptionist, Yann, gave us a warm welcome. He was so kind and ready to help. I asked for tea even though I knew there was some in the room, and he made it for me right away. So cool. Nice hotel, nice room and great service. Highly recommend 🥰🥰🥰🥰🙏🙏👍👍

We stayed for three nights in December 2025, my friend and I each in a single room. Mine was larger than I expected for Paris, with a double bed and plenty of floor space. It was at the back of the building, so it was quiet, and it was clean with a comfortable bed. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was tasty and enough for us: jams, juice, cheese and ham, and you choose your pastry the night before. I assume that's because they get them fresh from the bakery each day. This is a small, family-run restaurant, so it won't suit anyone looking for a huge buffet breakfast. I thought the stay was good value, comfortable and well located, and I'd come back. The hotel is handy for Gare du Nord, Piagalle, Montmartre and Sacre Coeur, with a metro station about 50m away. It isn't the most salubrious neighborhood, but I didn't feel unsafe. We mostly used Gare du Nord or Piagalle/Abesses depending on where we were going, so I only walked past the nearby station. There was graffiti and rubbish around, but that's common in much of Paris. It's a busy area, and we felt fine walking back after dinner.

KEEP AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!! The “hotel manager”, Bruno, was extremely rude and confrontational. He wouldn't take responsibility for the hotel's shortcomings and instead made us feel unwelcome and unsafe. They advertise it as a 3-star hotel, but the service and location are misleading. Please believe me about our experience as a woman traveling with my mother. Extremely poor overall. The photos show a stained sheet, a dark splatter on the wall and mold in the shower.

Getting around was easy thanks to the transport links, but the service and experience were very bad. I wouldn't recommend this hotel, especially to families. They kept my €100 deposit, saying a towel was damaged because I put it in the shower to stop my kids slipping. Aren't towels meant to get wet? And wouldn't dirt show up on a white towel? They also claimed there was urine on the bed, which is a big lie. My toddler is potty trained and wakes up to use the toilet, and I brought a mattress and sheet protector just in case. My infant still wears diapers. I feel they took the money falsely, and I hope they go out of business. You can't lie about someone and expect things to go well for you.
