My dad has stayed here regularly for work for many years, and I highly recommend the hotel. Anastasia Rio deserves a special mention for welcoming you with such good manners and a very professional approach. We really appreciate her service.
I’m sharing this to warn other guests, especially women and families. Late at night during my stay at Novotel Suites Paris Montreuil Vincennes, my sister, young niece, and I had a frightening security incident. On Saturday the 17th, shortly after midnight, we returned from a long day at Disneyland. An unknown adult man followed us into the hotel and elevator, got onto our guest-only floor, and followed us to the area outside our room. He first spoke to me in English and asked where I was from. When I asked about his room, floor, and key, he suddenly said he couldn’t speak English. We stayed by the lift because we felt something was wrong and didn’t want him to know our room. He lingered in the hall, became aggressive, and shouted at us to go inside. He went toward one staircase, came back and questioned us again, then headed for the other staircase. We used that moment to run into our room and lock the door. I called reception and was explicitly told not to call the police. They said security had checked CCTV and no one was seen. We received no reassurance or meaningful response. An unauthorised person reaching guest floors at night and repeatedly confronting a woman, another woman, and a child is a serious failure of guest safety. I didn’t feel safe for the rest of the stay. Until the hotel can show it has proper access controls and responds appropriately to serious incidents, I can’t recommend it. Women travelling alone and families should exercise extreme caution. Do not stay here.
Do not stay here. I was at this Novotel with my daughter and sister from 15-18 Jan 2026 for my daughter’s birthday. We wanted somewhere reasonably priced and near both central Paris and Disneyland, so it seemed like the right choice. Late on the 17th, after we returned, a man who was not a guest followed us into the hotel and the elevator. He had no room key, which is required to operate the elevator, but asked in good English where we were from. When we challenged him about not having a key, he said he didn’t speak English. We asked which floor he needed. He looked at the floor we had selected and said it was his too. At our floor, he wanted us to leave the elevator first. We were women alone with a child and didn’t feel safe doing that, so I told him to go first. He got angry and aggressively demanded in good English that we leave first. Then he left the lift and lingered in the hallway outside our room. We didn’t want to enter while he was there. I asked him to go to his room, and he shouted at us to go into ours. When he realized we weren’t stupid, he ran to the staircase. I could see him looking through the windows in the stairwell door, so I still didn’t feel safe. He came back out, asked why we weren’t going to our room, then ran toward the other staircase at the opposite end of the hall. We took the chance to run into our room. We immediately called the receptionist, reported what had happened, said we were very scared, and asked to call the police. The receptionist told us not to call them and said they would check CCTV and speak to security. They later called back saying they had checked the footage and spoken with security, but no one had been seen. That worried us even more. We had walked past and greeted the guard, who was sitting facing the elevators and should have seen the man come in behind us. He had no room key, yet got onto a guest-only floor and made us feel unsafe. The hotel’s response was inadequate. The next day we spoke with the on-site manager, Anastasia. She said the hotel couldn’t look at CCTV and only head office could. So how had the receptionist, whom Anastasia said was an agency worker, checked it that night? After we sent Novotel several complaint emails, Anastasia said she had apparently checked the footage and that the man was a hotel guest. That’s laughable. Guests need a room key to use the elevator. Even if his key was in his bag, he could simply have shown it when we asked, especially since we had already used ours. He should have left the lift and gone straight to his room. Instead, he became extremely aggressive toward us. It left us with so many questions. Human trafficking is very prominent in Paris, everyone knows this. Are hotel staff involved? Being told not to call the police was strange. So was being told CCTV had been checked when it hadn’t, and the security guard saying he saw nobody enter the elevator with us. My sister also posted a review on Google, and the hotel removed it. I wonder if they’ll remove this one too. This Novotel location does not meet the Novotel standard. Do not stay here, especially if you’re a woman travelling alone.
Lilian went out of her way to answer our various questions, and I’d like to mention her in particular. She’s an asset to the hotel group. We were very impressed with the staff, and our experience at Novotel Hotel Paris was excellent. I strongly recommend staying here.
There was drilling from construction around the hotel every day of our stay, starting at 0800, and it was horrible. The area felt unsafe to walk in, especially at night, although the hotel is close to the metro. Reception wasn’t welcoming. The car park has no EV charger, only a regular plug, so you need to bring a special adapter, which the website doesn’t mention. When I pointed out that a regular plug isn’t an EV charger, the receptionist told me I could go charge the car somewhere around the hotel.
