Hôtel Opera Lafayette

The only nice thing was the new bathroom. There are much nicer three-star hotels nearby for less money. On arrival, our room hadn't been cleaned. The cleaner was lying on the bed, taking a phone call and shouting that we should come back in ten minutes. We went out for lunch, but nearly 45 minutes later she still hadn't finished. The beds weren't very comfortable, and the pillows were flat and oddly shaped. Breakfast was below average, with a sad selection and poor quality. Cleaning was lacking even though the room was serviced daily, with hairs left in the sink or shower cubicle every time. The tiny lift barely fits two people, and we often took the stairs because staff were using it.

The breakfast was cold and not very impressive, though there are plenty of nice breakfast spots nearby. Apart from that, we found everything very good and comfortable. Our room was spacious, with a large bathroom, and the staff were kind and cordial. Hotel Opera Lafayette is very well located, close to bus and metro stations with easy connections to central attractions. We had a very pleasant stay.

The room was small but clean, the one positive part of my stay. The view I got didn't match the beautiful one shown in the Booking.com photos, and I plan to attach pictures comparing the actual view with the website's. I could hear the metro passing under the building, which made it hard to sleep. The Wi-Fi was almost unusable too, either extremely slow or constantly dropping. Overall, I was disappointed.

I had a really good three-night stay. The room was clean, the location was great, and the gentleman working the night reception was friendly and helpful.
