The only thing I’d complain about is security: there’s just one lock at the gate, with no lock on individual rooms and no lockers. Otherwise, this is a pretty nice hostel for solo travelers in Paris. The neighborhood feels really safe, with mostly locals and not many tourists around. The owners are Korean and serve a traditional Korean breakfast, which is a big plus if you like Asian food.

You can use the kitchen to make dinner, then sit and share it with new friends. The place has a warm, family-run feel, with guests from all over, though most seemed to be from the East. Breakfast has an Oriental style and was good, but might not be what Western guests are used to. The rooms and common areas aren't modern, but they're clean and stylishly decorated.

The location was great, close to both Plaisance and Pernety metro stations, and check-in was quick. I was only there for one night, but the place's character came through right away when I was asked to take off my shoes at the entrance. I slept in an eight-person dorm and would've liked a locker for my belongings. Still, the atmosphere made me feel they would be safe. In the morning, the host made a tasty, authentic Korean breakfast.
