Historic buildings all around, and lovely cafés. It's a beautiful spot.
Getting around down there can feel like a maze, especially when you're trying to find the right exit among all the metro and RER connections. The mall and walkways upstairs are okay, and it's handy enough to grab something to eat or change trains. But there's not much Parisian charm in the concrete underground sprawl.
Even with all the people around, I'd happily come back to this huge transport hub. It connects you to all corners of Paris and is one of the biggest in the world, so visitors will probably use it at some point.
A busy place where the RER and metro meet, with a nice shopping mall connected to it.
There's a lovely park just outside the station, and Forum Les Halles is connected to it too. The mall has lots to see and do, while the station links up with most of the metro system.
