Pont Neuf is a peaceful stop on Line 7, opened in 1926 beneath the bridge of the same name. The bridge's name means “New Bridge,” even though it's the oldest in Paris. From here, it's easy to reach the Seine, Île de la Cité, and the Louvre, along with other historic parts of the city. The station has a money theme, with oversized coin replicas and displays about France's currency history on the walls. That's a fitting touch with the former Monnaie de Paris nearby, and it makes the station feel a bit like a small museum. It's often quieter than neighboring stations, a nostalgic pause amid the busy city. You can start a riverside stroll here or see the equestrian statue of King Henri IV on the bridge above. It isn't flashy, but Pont Neuf Metro Station brings together art, history, and easy access to old Paris.
