Hôtel Regent's Garden - Astotel

The hotel, our room, and the garden were all clean, warm, and welcoming, and the staff did everything they could to make us comfortable. The peaceful garden was a lovely place to relax with a drink and some of the varied complimentary snacks. We spent three days in Paris, and the location made getting around easy, with several metro stations and lines close by. Even with such a central spot, the hotel, garden, and rooms stayed remarkably quiet. It was hard to leave after such a wonderful stay, and we're already looking forward to coming back.

The bakery right in front of the hotel is exceptional. I also liked the location, with key metro stations about a 10-15 minute walk away. The place was cozy, nice, and clean, and the staff were friendly.

We loved looking out over the flower garden from our room. It made the place feel like a little oasis, and the soft bells from the nearby church added to the peaceful atmosphere. It even brought to mind a Sherlock Holmes movie, in the quiet moment before the characters discover something interesting. The Regent's Garden Hotel feels more like a cozy private home than a typical city hotel, with its own atmosphere and thoughtful service. The building dates back to 1850 and was renovated in 2016. We especially appreciated how genuinely kind the staff were. There's a complimentary minibar with water and non-alcoholic drinks in the room, plus an open bar after lunch with coffee, tea, pastries, and cookies. I'd be happy to return any time of year. The staff are what make the hotel feel so comfortable and pleasant.

We used the hotel's private shuttle, which was easy to arrange by emailing the front desk in advance, and reasonably priced. There's also a shared property sauna and gym about 25 to 30 minutes away by taxi or train. The sauna is infrared. A pharmacy and grocery store just across the street made it easy to pick up wine, snacks, or fresh fruit. We were happy with breakfast, which was fresh and tasty, even though it didn't change much day to day. The room was spotless and comfortable, with large windows overlooking the lovely interior garden. The complimentary minibar was restocked daily with water, juice, and cola, and there were afternoon snacks and coffee and tea available around the clock. The garden was a nice place for morning coffee or an afternoon pause. The staff were warm, attentive, and exceptional. The hotel is beautifully maintained, clean, and tucked into a charming residential neighborhood with cafés and restaurants a few blocks away. The train is a five-minute walk, and the Arc de Triomphe is also within walking distance. It's central, but still peaceful. We just got back from a week here and already want to return. There was no A/C because the system was turned off for the season. I like a very cold room, but felt safe sleeping with the window open, and the cool night air was comfortable. Some noise came through the floors and walls, which aren't fully soundproof since the building wasn't originally built as a hotel. We heard kids running above and some stairwell noise on a couple of nights. The beds also weren't as comfortable as the Hilton beds I'm used to. Those things didn't affect my five-star rating. For the price and charm, it was completely fine compared with a chain hotel.
