Hotel Regina Opéra Grands Boulevards

The chambermaids were the best, and the staff were friendly. The hotel is close to a metro station. My main complaint is that there's no refrigerator in the room, and the hallway smelled of mold. Breakfast runs until 11am, but when we came down at 9.40am one day, they were already out of eggs and orange juice.

The rooms have been recently refurbished, are clean, and are an OK size. My room faced the courtyard and was quiet. The bathroom, shower, Wi-Fi, and AC all worked well, and the mattress was comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. From the room and common areas I saw, the website's interior and room photos didn't seem altered. There was no construction noise, no bathroom trouble, and certainly no bugs. I've stayed in other Paris hotels at the same price, and this one was better. It was also better than, say, the Sheraton in Times Square, for an international comparison. It's no Relaix Chateau, Intercontinental, or Ritz, but it doesn't cost that much either. It's a good choice for a holiday or business trip. The hotel is perfectly fine, and I don't agree with some of the negative reviews. Don't let them put you off.

The hotel felt dirty, and the floor was very small. The rooms weren't clean at all. It's presented as a four-star place, but to me it felt like a one-star hotel. If you have a baby, don't stay here. My advice is to find another hotel.

The room had everything I needed: it was affordable, reasonably priced, large enough, and clean. The shower had really good water pressure, and the electric kettle boiled so quickly. It was great to relax in my room with several cups of tea at the end of the day. I would have liked a small refrigerator, though. There are lots of metro stations nearby, so getting to the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, and other places is easy by train. You can walk to those places as well. The Lourve Museum was about a 40 minute walk, and I made that walk a few times. The hotel helped make my Paris stay much more pleasant, and I recommend it.
