Résidence Bourgogne

We loved this little hotel and would come back next time we're in Paris. It has a very Parisian feel, with cobbled streets and lots of restaurants nearby, but the area is a little less touristy, which adds to its charm. The street-facing room worked well for us and had an updated bathroom. The Metro is only a two-minute walk away. The restaurant was closed when we arrived, but the host sent self check-in instructions and replied quickly on WhatsApp. Communication was good, and checkout was hassle-free. There was a fridge and microwave in the room. If you plan to cook, bring your own utensils and pans.

A cute budget inn with minimal rooms and updated bathrooms. There's a stove and sink if you want to cook, though you'd need cookware. The location is excellent, and it's a good fit if all you need is somewhere affordable to shower and sleep. The stairs are a bit cramped, so bear that in mind if you have big bags.

We found the price very fair for August, especially for this part of Paris, where good value is hard to find. The hotel was close to all the sights we wanted to see. The rooms were small and basic but clean, with new bathrooms, and the staff were helpful and communicated well. We'd seen a worrying previous review about reception, but had no trouble ourselves. Reception was closed when we arrived, though they emailed the room access information that morning. We'd come back.

The room turned out nicer than the pictures, and we were glad to have a large window looking onto the main road. Our friends weren't as lucky, their room had no natural light. The kitchen appliances were basic, and our double bed was two single beds at slightly different heights, which was disappointing. The location was decent, and the metro was right there. The nearby area felt a little intimidating, though we didn't have much reason to walk around.
