The room was clean and a good size, with a kitchenette, and the bathroom and toilet were separate, which seems set up for longer stays. Breakfast had enough variety and was good. The staff were all pleasant, especially the helpful reception team. Tea, coffee, and water are free in reception around the clock, and there’s also tea and coffee in the room. I’d definitely recommend it.

Check your bill carefully. They charged city tax for an extra person. My card was also charged twice for the full stay on the same day, but reception didn’t acknowledge it for five days. At checkout they couldn’t print a receipt, and when I asked them to email one, they didn’t. I had to file a missing stay request through Marriott.com. Thanks for the quick response, but I emailed you, the General Manager, and reception on Feb 25 with the receipt attached. I still haven’t heard anything about the city tax charge. At least you care about Google reviews.

Montparnasse felt safe at night, and while it isn’t right in the centre, there are several easy transit options to the main sights. We’d been to Paris before and usually stayed in the 7th arr, so it was nice to try a more local area. The room was clean and fairly spacious compared with some Paris hotels. My only issue was the layout: the toilet is in a separate room from the shower and sink, so you have to cross the room to wash your hands. Breakfast on the main floor was included and came with a coffee machine, different croissants, bread and cheese, plus scrambled eggs and sausages. We loved our stay.

The staff were attentive, and breakfast was simple but tasty. Our room was quite large and nice, with plenty of good restaurants nearby. The tram stop is right next to the hotel.
