Hotel Riviera

The reception and staff were bad. There was no kettle in the room, so I couldn't make tea, and the bathtub had no plug. When I asked for one, they said they didn't have one, so I couldn't take a bath. I booked through the Byhours app, which said checkout was at 7:30 PM. The staff told me I had to leave at noon, even after I showed them the booking in the app.

The room on the sixth floor had unmatched views of Paris, and the bedroom was kept clean with fresh towels provided. We also had breakfast every morning. Everything was close by, even montmarte. Manager mustafa was welcoming and helpful from day one. Don't listen to the bad reviews, this hotel exceeded every expectation I had. Honestly, 10/10. When I return to Paris, I'll stay here again!

The only thing going for this place is its location. I can't understand how it qualifies as a three-star hotel. It looks nothing like the photos, and in my opinion doesn't deserve even one star. The sound insulation is almost nonexistent. The elevator barely works, and we had to climb to the fourth floor several times. The showerheads aren't fixed in place, hot water barely runs properly, and the sockets feel like an electric shock hazard.

The building is in very poor shape. The lift stopped working, its walls are covered in graffiti, and dampness has made the paint peel and crack on the walls and ceiling. The shower drain was clogged, and I found hair on the bottle of shower gel. They don't sell water at the hotel, and there's no supermarket close by. The receptionist said the water in the room was potable, but given the state of the building, I didn't dare trust it. The receptionist was rude and condescending, and kept scolding me. I tried to check in using my own name, unaware that the person who booked online had put her name on the reservation instead. He repeatedly told me I should have given him her name, in a very hostile way. I booked the airport shuttle for 7:30 AM. When I came downstairs at 7:20, he said the taxi was waiting and the driver wasn't happy because I was late. He also misrepresented the shuttle price. The card said 17€, but staff didn't tell me the single-person price until after he called the driver and confirmed the booking. Then he said it was 28€ and claimed, “It's written there.” It wasn't written on the front.
