The location is excellent, with good metro and other connections around Paris, and the maid was the one staff member who was friendly. Otherwise, the staff were unfriendly, and there was rarely anyone at reception. The old building has bed bugs. I was bitten in many places on my hands and toes, and a week after my stay I was still dealing with discomfort and problems. The effects are awful, especially if you bring the bugs home. Given the old furnishings, their presence isn't surprising. The maid cleaned daily, but the hotel still felt unattractive and dirty. I wouldn't recommend it under any circumstances.

The only good thing about this hotel is its location, on a beautiful, large square and just 100 meters from the metro, which is very useful. The room was cramped, the bed uncomfortable, and the bed and bathroom weren't cleaned very well. The hairdryer was tiny and weak, not enough for long hair, for example.

We checked out early and moved to another hotel the next morning. I wish we'd left the first night, but it was too late to find somewhere else. The place is old, DIRTY, dodgy, and poorly maintained. Avoid the elevator too. You can check the photos and reviews; they're all true. It was funny that the receptionist seemed to expect people to check out. We also couldn't get an invoice for the city tax, which felt weird.

I was nervous after reading the reviews, but it turned out fine. The location is great, with good bars and restaurants nearby and a popular station close by. The place is old and more like a hostel than a hotel, but clean enough. It's a good option if you just need somewhere to sleep rather than hang out. We had no trouble with the staff, who were very helpful.

The room was clean and fine for a night's sleep, and the price was good for Paris. There was no air conditioning or fan, though, so it can get very hot in summer. There wasn't any toilet paper in the bathroom either. It served our purpose.
