Sweet Inn Opéra - Grands boulevards (Various adresses)

The room is well decorated and has great cooking supplies, including utensils and baskets. But the chairs take up too much space, and the shower cubicle is so small that I couldn’t wash my hair with the door closed because my elbows hit it. There’s room for a bigger shower tray. The kettle was broken and seemed to switch on randomly, room 52, I think.

We booked a fourth-floor suite while travelling with an elderly person, then arrived to find the lift out of service. It never came back on during our five-night stay.

Bonne Nouvelle Metro station is only two blocks away, with connections all over Paris, and the main tourist spots are still close enough to reach on foot. The apartments are comfortable, quiet, and equipped with everything needed. The building also has a lift, guest storage, and laundry. There’s a great plant-based restaurant around the corner, along with bars, restaurants, pizzerias, Japanese and Thai places, ice cream shops, and good French bakeries.

Step outside and turn the corner, and there are some great restaurants, including ones recommended by Michelin. There’s also a good café downstairs for breakfast or lunch. The room was a great size and had high-quality equipment, and the location was excellent. The security and the profiles of the other guests were decent too.
