Five Boutique Hotel Paris Quartier Latin

We hardly spent time at the hotel, and had a nice stay. The neighborhood was quiet, which suited me since I'm sensitive to noise at night. There is a bar on the corner, but it wasn't much of an issue on the weekdays we were there. It's a good shopping area, and restaurants and other nearby places are about a 15-minute walk away if you're happy to walk a bit. The rooms are tiny, as you'd expect in Paris, but comfortable enough to sleep in after a long day. My one real frustration was the room deposit. As a tourist, I didn't want to hand over 100 euros in cash only to get it back on departure day. Several credit cards wouldn't work, though they worked everywhere else and for paying the room tax. I think the front desk employee may have been entering them in an odd way.

The people working here were really nice, and the room and bed were very comfortable. I'm very small, so the small shower didn't bother me. The location was okay, though not the best and not really near tourist spots. Still, it's a comfortable place to return to after spending the day exploring the city.

The compact room wasn't why I gave this place two stars. Both wardrobe mirrors were cracked, and the bathroom wasn't very clean. There was mold around the sink and between the shower tiles.

Check-in was friendly, and the staff were helpful with questions and directions. We had to switch rooms because of a booking issue on our end. The air conditioning in the replacement room wasn't working properly, and the staff there didn't tell us until we asked. It was a heat wave, with temperatures around 102-103 degrees, and we were told to OPEN THE WINDOWS. Management REFUSED to compensate us for the inconvenience. They even told our credit card company that the services had been provided as advertised. No, they hadn't. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere in this lovely city.
