Hotel Verlain

There are two metro stations nearby, but neither works for people with mobility issues, so we used Ubers everywhere. We also want to give a mention to Maria, the cleaner. She was lovely and always seemed to be working hard, even when nobody was watching. The hotel itself was clean and affordable, with places to eat within walking distance. The rooms were a decent size for Paris, and there's an elevator.

The room was quiet, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is close to several Metro stations, so it's easy to get around quickly, and there are grocery stores and restaurants nearby. It was clean, reasonably priced, and the staff were friendly. I'd highly recommend staying here.

Our room was simply furnished, but clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is handy for buses, the metro, bakeries, and restaurants. Cross Ave de la Republic and continue down Rue Saint-Maur for some excellent restaurants. We just got home after three nights at Hotel Verlain in Paris, and we'll stay there again next time we visit.

We booked three rooms for a full week, and there was no hot water anywhere in the hotel. I had to take freezing showers every day for all seven days. Nobody offered compensation, and the staff seemed completely indifferent. That was absolutely unacceptable for a hotel, especially in Paris. The worst hotel experience I've had in the city. Avoid it at all costs.
