We enjoyed our stay. The location felt safe, with restaurants and shops close by, and breakfast was delicious.
The host was so gracious and accommodating. Since my French wasn’t good enough, he called a car service to take me to the airport. Breakfast was delicious, with quintessential French jams, and there were thoughtful extras like candies and quality toiletries. The residence is beautiful, decorated with antiques and modern furniture. One chair had once been in Dior's! It’s in a lovely area, convenient to the Metro, with terrific restaurants and a mini grocery nearby.
My room was large, bright, and comfortable, with stylish, tasteful furnishings. The neighborhood is lovely, peaceful, and quiet. I was welcomed with a cup of tasty tea, though communicating in English was a bit of a challenge because the staff had some difficulty with it. There was no internet during my stay, which was a problem since I was there on a business trip.
The breakfast was generous and beautifully laid out, with croissants, cake, baguettes, yogurt, butter, jams, cheeses, and more. They made the coffee just the way we wanted, and it was delicious. Christophe, the owner and host, was charming and friendly, with plenty of restaurant suggestions and help getting around Paris, including making reservations. He also knew a lot about getting to the airport. We stayed three nights in late September 2022 at Villa du Square, in Chambre Deluxe jardin. The historic house shows care in every detail, from the decor and comfortable bedding to the helpful information book in each room. It’s a lovely boutique hotel in a quiet part of Paris, away from the sidewalk crowds. There’s a small Auchon grocery just steps away, restaurants a few blocks off, and two metro stops within two or three blocks. We felt safe walking around and especially liked the shops and cafés along Av. Mozart and in the upscale Auteuil neighborhood. Our room was bright and cheerful, with a large window overlooking the garden terrace, though rain kept us from using the courtyard. The bed was large and comfortable, and the spacious bathroom had two sinks, a big tub, and a walk-in shower. We hope to visit Christophe and Villa du Square again. Three days wasn’t enough to do the area justice.
