Waldorf Madeleine Hotel

I stayed with my best friend in room 505 from Thursday to Today, and it was a 10/10 experience. We can't wait to come back. The staff, including Fanny and Marc, were friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. Marian was also helpful in the breakfast room. The location is fantastic for exploring Paris. Our room was big and spacious, with a large bathroom, coffee machine, robes, slippers, and all the toiletries we needed. Breakfast on the first floor was all you can eat, with cereal, juice, tea, coffee, hot eggs, bacon, sausage, boiled eggs, bread, yogurt, fruit, cakes, and croissants. Everything was fresh. Brilliant place, definitely stay again.

The location is unbeatable, and the rooms have recently been updated, so they're clean and tidy. They're small, but there's aircon, which you don't always get in Paris, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was a disaster, though. It was cramped, horrible, and stressful, one of the worst experiences I've had. Go out for breakfast. And this hotel shouldn't be confused with Waldorf Astoria hotels.

Loved our stay! Ange was so helpful, teaching us the right French terms to use, and all the staff were really friendly. It might be helpful to tell visitors ahead of time that there's a city tax to pay at the end of the stay. Apparently all hotels have to collect it, but knowing in advance would've helped.

The hotel is perfectly located, close to the metro and within walking distance of lots of interesting places in Paris. The room and toilet were very clean, but the room wasn't big enough for a couple. It would be fine for one person. The internet barely worked, with a very bad connection despite it being 2016. The mattress should be changed, too, because one side felt more used than the other. The lobby is small and could use redecorating to make a better first impression. For what you get, the price per night is too high.
