We booked a two-bedroom apartment but arrived to find only one bedroom and no second fold-out bed. The sheets were crumpled, as if someone had slept in them, and there was black hair on a pillowcase. It was so unpleasant that we didn’t shower that night and slept on top of the bed covers. The apartment smelled awful from the moment we walked in. There were dirty dishes in the sink, a full bin under it with a meat packet inside, dirty towels on the bathroom door and floor, and no clean towels. There was hair on the shower screen and walls, rubbish in the shower, and the screen looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. I contacted reception on WhatsApp, since there’s no physical reception, but waited more than 12 hours for a reply. They suggested moving to another apartment some distance away. We were in Paris for less than 48 hours, so that wasn’t practical or reasonable. We stayed out exploring as long as we could to avoid returning to the room. By that evening the dirty towels had been replaced and the rubbish taken out, but the rest of the apartment was still dirty. We checked in on Monday 29 September 2025 and left on Wednesday 1 October 2025. After getting back to Australia on 4 October, I emailed the hotel and was offered a measly 20% refund. Given the state of the room, and that there was only one bed when we’d booked two, I felt a full refund was justified, though I knew that was unlikely. I received the 20% refund on Saturday, 25 October, then asked the business for 50% instead. They replied that they wouldn’t reconsider. The lack of service in Paris and after we left was disgraceful. Please don’t book here. The care, empathy and service were appalling.

The apartment itself was good, with a comfortable bed and everything I needed. It was clean, too. But the company had sent several emails and I still arrived after midnight without a room number or code. Luckily, someone was working in the office, so I could call. It was very loud outside the windows. It felt like a student residence.

It was a letdown, and the price is far too high for what you get. Two people could barely move around in the extremely small room. Finding the apartment alone for self check-in wasn’t easy either. The place looked like former ground-floor offices converted into living space. Better options are available for the same price.

The listing on Booking.com calls this a “4-star” place. I’d like someone to explain that to me. We had to call reception to get in because the directions to the room were wrong. The room was cramped, with an unpleasant light and a tiny bathroom. There wasn’t a proper bed, just a folding one, or a proper second bed as the listing promised. There was no light switch or outlet beside the bed. For the price, the complete lack of comfort is outrageous. Avoid it.

We arrived at 4 p.m., though check-in was supposed to be available from 3, and the room hadn’t been cleaned. The chambermaid was locked out because her supervisor hadn’t given her the right code. Then, from midnight, the lock on our door stopped working. The online reception kept giving us the runaround. They offered another room, but all our things were locked in the original one. We were left without money or food, in yesterday’s clothes and unable to shower because we had no change of clothes. We had only W9 clips for company. After 9 a.m., they still couldn’t give us a timeframe or a solution beyond trying a fork. Sadly, I missed that MacGyver episode. The reception staff were very nice, but they couldn’t help beyond repeatedly reading through their crisis process. I asked Karen to let me speak to the manager, but they only had an email address. After we’d been chasing updates every hour, we finally realized the technician had arrived. Reception had promised to keep us informed, but we always had to call, and the information was never clear. All that was needed was an app to unlock the door. They could have fixed it remotely if they’d let us download it. Twelve hours wasted. Thanks to the technician for being kind.
