Our chalet had plenty of room for five, and the pool and slides were great, though they got a bit crowded in the afternoon. There was a mini disco and other entertainment every night. One thing I didn't like was having to wear an armband. I don't want to stand out as a tourist when I'm travelling. It’s a nice caravan park.

A beautifully located campsite. During the off season, the bar and supermarket are closed on weekdays.

The area is lovely, with the Du Herrison waterfall nearby, Ain beaches, and plenty of other places to explore. It’s a good base for visiting the Jura, France, Switzerland, and maybe even Italy. In a little over two hours, you can get to the TramWay in Fayet and ride up Mont Blanc. The Ain River runs beside the campsite, and you can hear the dammed water. After rain it sometimes rushes fast enough to really thunder. We were five in an economy mobile home. The site itself has swimming pools, slides, playgrounds, outdoor fitness equipment, and a marked football field or cage. There’s a shop, and you can order bread at reception for the next morning. The croissants and baguettes are delicious. Staff were friendly, and there’s also a snack bar and restaurant, an entertainment room, and an entertainment team. The sleeping arrangements weren’t great. The double bed, listed as 140x90, had a not very thick mattress on a board, and the sofa bed mattress was very thin. Our son is now sleeping on the couch seat, and we parents sometimes swap with the kids because their beds are more comfortable. Our caravan was next to a wall, with a house garden above it and a compost heap in that spot. Luckily it barely smelled, but there were lots of flies, so we bought mosquito screens at Lidl. 😉

The place was very quiet, and the sanitary facilities were clean. The person at reception was honest and pointed us to a suitable pitch since the rain had made some of them quite slippery. There’s a nearby Q8 petrol station with the groceries we needed. Buses were also fairly regular and free, as they are throughout Luxembourg.

The accommodations are packed close together, so it felt noisy and crowded, with hardly any privacy. The campsite is expensive, and the facilities look neglected. They charged us 85 euros for supposedly not cleaning the mobile home, even though we had cleaned it. We did the toilet, bathroom, windows, fridge, freezer, and floors, and even lifted the beds, where we found things left by previous guests. There were a few crumbs in the cupboards, and apparently we folded the sheets the wrong way. Aren’t they washed after every stay anyway? They sent a photo of a clean faucet as proof of some of the “problems” they’d found. We felt they’d treated us unfairly and sent a polite email asking to discuss it, but got no reply. That’s very disrespectful, to say the least. We’re reasonable people with few expectations and wouldn’t have left a bad review otherwise, but we would NOT recommend this place.
