I’ve stayed here for years, often when crossing into or out of Spain, and it’s ideal for a night or two. It’s in the centre of Pau, with free on-street parking and nearby restaurants that serve food until 9 pm. Room sizes vary a lot, and some are very small, though I got a fairly large one on my latest visit. The beds are comfortable, there’s central heating, and the bathrooms are spotless. My shower was a little loose. Breakfast is generous, wi-fi is decent in most rooms, and there’s a television. The charming couple who run the hotel speak some English, lots of Spanish, and French too. Highly recommended for a short stay.

Bad Luck Saloon really lives up to the hype. I’d absolutely recommend it and will definitely be back!

The bed sheets were clean, but that was the only bright spot. This tired hotel needs an upgrade. There was no wi-fi signal, no hot water for showers, and despite a notice saying otherwise, nobody spoke English or Spanish. A very disappointing stay, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The room was old and dark, and I only stayed one night. There was noise from Flor upstairs, so sleep was hard. The older woman I dealt with spoke only French and Spanish, and didn't know English. Booking through modern platforms seemed to be a struggle, though the place is joining them. Update: the cleaning staff spoke English in the morning! :)

The beef was excellent, and the staff were relaxed and helpful. Had a great night out. Thanks, chaps!
