The room and bathroom were clean and roomy, and the air conditioning was a plus. Breakfast was pretty basic, but fine. Dinner was a different story: the portions were big, but the food quality was poor. My steak was massive and tough as a shoe sole. Breakfast also starts very late, after 8:30.

We stopped for the night after visiting Sisteron. The room was spotless, the bed was really comfortable, and the hot shower was great. The manager at reception was very friendly. Dinner was the plat de jour, Cote de Veau, nicely presented and delicious, with fresh salad, roasted vegetables, and fries. We cleaned our plates. Coffee, fresh croissants, bread, and fruit juice made up breakfast before we left.

We pulled up outside on our motorcycles and were taking off our waterproofs when the owner watched us, then told us they weren’t serving food. The restaurant was full of people.

I’ve walked past this modest little restaurant dozens of times, so I’m glad I finally went in today. The daily special was really good, with a generous portion of meat and a nice range of sides. The food was excellent.

We came across this place while visiting and got a warm welcome. The restaurant was excellent value for money, and being a little off the main road wasn’t a big issue. I wrote down the address in my notebook. I still need to try the hotel before I can be sure of my opinion.
