We stopped for dinner at the restaurant in Hotel Chalet Suisse while vacationing in Valberg, and the cozy atmosphere made the evening especially nice. The service was warm and attentive, and there was plenty to choose from, including a good range of wines, fondue that was well prepared, and tempting dishes and desserts. We left with a very good impression. Thanks to Chalet Suisse and the whole team!

We had lunch in the sunshine on the lovely terrace, and the prices felt fair for the food and friendly service. The hotel is right in the town center, which is hard to beat. Everyone was so welcoming, and the food was fantastic. I also left something behind, but the staff found it and kept it safe for me. Such a nice experience.

The meal cost €400 for five adults, and the food quality left us disappointed. The steak was listed in a confusing way and cost €120, yet it wasn't very tasty or large enough for two people. The grilled pineapple dessert was a letdown too, just one slice of ungrilled pineapple with a scoop of ice cream.

The steak came to 120€, although the menu listed it at 60€. There was no clear explanation that the price was per person, just an incomplete “per/pers” note. The pricing felt misleading, and the steak was average at best for that cost. I left feeling overcharged and disappointed.

After we booked, we arrived to find the hotel had overbooked and were moved somewhere else. My girlfriend and I ended up on a sofa bed. We raised the issue with management over the next two days, but they threatened that we'd have to pay the full amount. We wouldn't pay the €250 and asked for a discount. After waiting two hours for a decision, we left. Then they charged us full price for a room we hadn't booked. It left me wondering if this is routine for them.
