Hôtel De La Loge

The staff really make this place. They feel like a family, and are so welcoming and friendly that it feels like a home away from home. It’s a small hotel, almost hidden from view, in a great spot for visiting Perpignan and the surrounding area. You don’t need a car. The building is very old but well maintained and very clean. The little pedestrian street is well lit and easy to find, and I felt safe there. Fresh towels every day, great pillows, and comfortable beds made it a relaxing place to come back to after a day out. Breakfast was satisfying and well priced. I definitely recommend staying here and seeing for yourself what a delightful little hotel it is.

The staff were pleasant and laid-back, and they let us leave our luggage for a few hours after checkout. Since it’s a small hotel, the front desk is often unattended, and you get in with a code. We skipped breakfast because there are so many nice cafes nearby. We stayed three nights at the start of August. The room was beautifully clean, with basic things like tea and coffee and a hair dryer. The air conditioning was a godsend in the 38-degree heat and made the room icy cool. The shower was tiny, and there weren’t many plug sockets.

We only stayed one night. It was comfortable and pretty clean, right in the centre and just steps from my favourite steakhouse. I didn’t see or use any of the hotel amenities. It can be noisy at night, but the view is cool. If you’re a light sleeper, it may not be the right choice.

It feels homely, like staying in a wealthy person’s home, and the old building has been restored really well. It isn’t modern. The shared areas are clean and beautifully decorated, and the place is well appointed with a nice breakfast. Restaurants, bars, shops, and tourist attractions are right next door. Just a really nice place to stay.
