The overall impression was very bad, and I definitely wouldn't recommend this hotel. Its service, facilities, breakfast and staff are at the level of a weaker 3-star hotel, despite the 4-star rating. The reception ladies didn't seem to notice or greet us, and we probably had their worst room. It was small, with one window facing the terrace where people go to smoke. The window closes by itself, so you have to hold it open to ventilate even when nobody is smoking. The TV was small and stuck on one channel, with no way to change it. The bathroom was cramped, and the tiny side glass meant shower water ran all over the bathroom. The cabinet safe didn't work. Since the hotel connects to the train station and shopping centre, anyone can enter its underground garage, though parking isn't free. Breakfast would fill you up, but wasn't enjoyable or up to a 4-star standard. You can feel the cost cutting everywhere. They also want a €100 deposit in case you damage or steal something, returned exclusively to your account after the room is checked. It was the first time I'd encountered that procedure at a 4-star hotel.

I slept well in the comfortable bed, and the room was a decent size with a desk and good air conditioning. The decor wasn't really my taste, though at least it was different. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the location beside the train station worked well for my one night before catching a train. The problem was the noise in room 232, overlooking a busy road by the station. I initially thought the window had been left open, but it hadn't. Cars and trains woke me at 6am, and I couldn't get back to sleep, even though they weren't extremely loud. Also, cold water from the sink came out as little more than a trickle, while warm and hot water pressure was fine. It's a pity, since the cleanliness, service, and bed comfort were all very good.

After 14 nights, I came away with mixed feelings. The hotel looks impressive, and at just 90 metres from the railway station the location is excellent. I never heard a train, thanks to the soundproofing. The room was a good size, with the toilet separate from the bathroom, though the large building means there's little chance of a view. Room cleaning was the most frustrating part. The vacuum wasn't used every day, and one item I was tracking took three days to be removed. Coffee pods, sugar, or stirrers were sometimes missing, so I bought my own supplies. I also had to wash the coffee cups before using them, and the cleaner wasn't pleasant. There were maintenance problems too: my TV remote needed replacing, and the safe had stopped working because its batteries had expired. Both were fixed fairly quickly. Around day ten, Teddi asked if I was happy. I mentioned that one side of my bed had collapsed, and was impressed to find it changed when I got back. His intervention earned back a star from me. Someone has clearly invested a lot in this building, and I hope the owners sort out these details before the quality slips. Attention to detail matters here.

The breakfast area looks really fancy, and breakfast itself is just 13 per person with lots of variety, not only a croissant and coffee like elsewhere. The room was completely clean and smelled lovely, and we got a beautiful view even though we'd booked at the last minute and didn't pay for an expensive suite. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful. I recommend this place 200%. The only downside for me was that parking costs extra. If you have an electric car, though, there are three free Tesla spots.
