We found the five rooms spacious and comfortable, with everything we needed and views over open fields and a lovely garden. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful, and the Chateau du Bourg in Perreux is such a calm, cosy place, beautifully decorated and conveniently close to Roanne and Lyon. A lovely French maison de maître for a stopover, a longer visit to the region, or a wedding party. We had a delightful stay and highly recommend it.

Our wedding party could stay overnight in the guesthouse, and the owners were lovely all weekend, even bringing us breakfast. The setting worked so well for our plans: a beautiful outdoor area, a secluded spot where we wouldn't bother the neighbors, and a room with a dance floor that could easily be separated. It was an exceptional venue and made our wedding better.

2/10
The reception was a real disappointment. The room felt cramped and had such poor soundproofing that we couldn't even have a conversation at the table. Once the sound system was on, dancing was a nightmare. If it rains, the parking is a muddy walk from the reception. The cheap tables and wobbly chairs were unclean, apparently from being kept in a dusty shed. The first impression was flattering, but it didn't last, and the owner made no effort to fix these problems. Even at the low price, the services feel low-end and unlikely to improve. The owner seemed very pleased with himself and unwilling to spend money.
