The receptionist did what she could to help, the morning coffee was hot, and the bed was reasonably comfortable. That was about all I liked. The first room reeked of cigarette smoke, had a leak leaving a puddle on the floor, and its cistern either ran constantly or made a loud noise. The next room still stank of smoke. Both rooms were tiny. Breakfast was mostly bread and butter, a few jam toppings, cornflakes and some apple stuff in the fridge with a baby-food texture. In my opinion the building needs a complete refurbishment and should be condemned. I’d pay a few euros more to avoid this experience.

The soundproofing could be better. I could hear people walking past my room and some traffic noise. Otherwise, the room was clean, the location convenient, and the staff helpful. They kindly let me collect my luggage from reception after a full day of work, at no extra charge.

The receptionist was very helpful when our first room smelled strongly of cigarettes, despite smoking not being allowed indoors. She moved us to another room right away. Later, after staff had left, the fire alarm went off four times. There were no instructions or coordination, and at 2 a.m. the police woke us and all the guests were sent to another hotel.

Rooms are small, the bathroom is tiny, and the hotel’s by the highway with poor insulation. You can see the gap in the door. Breakfast wasn’t bad, and there are places to eat all around, though there’s nowhere to get lunch or dinner on site. I’d paid for my reservation and arrived at midnight, when nobody was there, so I had to check in using the machine at the door. It recognized the booking but showed an error that couldn’t be fixed. No one answered the emergency number. I ended up paying for another night and planned to ask for a refund the next day. They accepted it was an error but didn’t apologize.
