We haven't felt any need to leave the grounds so far. The shaded gardens are lovely, and there's a great pool with good service by the water. The place is fantastic, though it feels a little remote if you don't have a car. Walking is possible since there are places nearby, but it's not very comfortable in the summer heat.

Bastia is about a 20-minute walk away, which is why I knocked off a star. There's a bus, line C, but the walk can be rough in the heat. An Auchan store is on the way to central Bastia. The hotel itself was superb, with very friendly staff and superb evening food. In Pietrenera, there's a small market, boulangeries, and a couple of pizza places a short walk away, plus a very helpful pharmacy.

The service from everyone on staff was excellent. The breakfast attendant was efficient and kind, and Marina, the restaurant manager, and her partner, the Chief Cook, looked after us very well. Marina was always smiling, which helped make our stay truly memorable. Our attractive, comfortable room had a balcony overlooking the nice pool and lovely garden. The hotel is on a pleasant road, a few minutes' drive from Bastia.

The grounds were gorgeous, and breakfast was great. Hotel Pietracap was so beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed the pool and the cozy hammock, and had a tasty dinner there one night.

After peak season, there aren't many other places to eat within walking distance besides the hotel restaurant, and the shower is in the bath. Still, there are plenty of good things: a great breakfast, quiet surroundings, friendly staff, a rain shower, lovely flowers, a great view, and a lovely pool. The hotel is just outside Bastia, and the rooms are spacious, with a lovely balcony for two and a great view.
