La Villa Guidi

The gîte and garden are charming, thoughtfully arranged, and nicely decorated, with a good mix of practicality and authenticity. From our Voce Ventu room, we could see the Corsican maquis spread out below Pila-Canale. Jennifer and Pascal gave us such a warm welcome that the whole stay felt unforgettable. We highly recommend this place!

A bucolic view and charming setting made for a lovely end to our trip. Thank you for the peaceful evening in your refined little haven.

The place itself is beautiful, but some rooms have very low ceilings. If you’re taller than 1.60 meters, you’ll have to crouch in spots or risk bumping into things. We enjoyed a perfect welcome elsewhere during an otherwise wonderful trip to Corsica, so this was the only place that disappointed us and felt inhospitable. The first day here started well, with a perfect welcome and dinner, but both dinners planned for the next two nights were canceled at the last minute for what seemed like spurious reasons. One was supposedly because of a Monday christening, though we met our hosts at a nearby restaurant. The other was blamed on a medical appointment that morning. We believe these hosts were lying. Pascal was the one who made the first move, while Jennifer's welcome felt cold.

The gardens around this spacious three-story villa are gorgeous, with lemon and orange trees and bougainvillea, and there’s a swimming pool tucked among them. We found plenty of cozy spots to relax with a drink from the "bar." Jennifer and Pascal welcomed us warmly, and we ate on the terrace overlooking a lush valley. Our comfortable, well-equipped room had its own lovely terrace, and towels were provided for the pool too. It’s a truly peaceful place, and I highly recommend it.
