We’d paid for breakfast along with the room, and hoped to get a few hours’ rest before a long drive the next day. We’d messaged the host to ask her to wake us when the hotel opened. Instead, she came to the car and told us to leave the parking lot, calling us strangers camping on private property because we hadn’t followed the schedule. We asked if we could rest inside or at least have the breakfast we’d paid for, but she insisted we leave as soon as possible. We’d arrived late after a wedding far from the hotel. The host knew we’d be late, but didn’t wait for us or find a way for us to get in. All the doors were shut, so we had to sleep in the car in the parking lot. We asked for a refund, and she said to go through Booking. We’ve contacted them many times, and they’ve asked the property several times to refund us, but she has refused, saying we didn’t follow the property’s rules.
