The Tipi was roomy and comfortable for four, with an outdoor tarp where we could cook and eat. Ti Tulipe also makes a handy base for exploring Brittany, from its menhirs and rugged coast to beaches and picturesque villages. There’s a shared lounge with tables, a small kitchen, and a fridge stocked with local brewers’ beers for sale. We enjoyed sitting there with other campers and playing cards. You can borrow books from the little library, and there are booklets about the area too. WiFi reaches the lounge area. It worked fine for messages and social media, but not for high quality streaming or online games. For some outdoor fun, there are three swings in a big tree, a trampoline, and a ball you can borrow from the owners for free. There’s also an indoboard for practicing balance. A vegetable garden and chicken coop sit on the camping field. Food scraps can go to the chickens, except raw potatoes and fruit or vegetable peels. The recycling is well sorted: plastic bottles, tin cans, drink cartons, glass, and paper each have their own category. Put other rubbish in the green bins. The toilets were fairly clean, and the showers were spacious. Bring your own toilet paper, since none is provided. Plouvorn has a supermarket with a gas station. It’s open Monday to Saturday from 8:00 to 20:00, and Sunday from 9:00 to 13:00. Market days nearby are Monday in Lesneven, Tuesday in St.Pol de Leon, Thursday in Carantec, and Saturday in Morlaix. Laundry costs 5€, and drying costs 4€. Massages include options like Hotstone and Energizing, with a 75-minute session costing 35€. The owners are into surfing and offer 1,5-hour lessons for 25€ per person, including a wetsuit and Surfboard. Once a week there’s an organized meal with biological ingredients, at a small price, around the campfire with other camping and Gîte guests.

Brittany is beautiful, but you’d be better off spending your time somewhere else. The owner is a total kook.
