We stopped again on the way back down the Canal du Midi, and the place was just as hard to fault. This time we ate asparagus to start, lamb for the main course, then tarte tatin, sitting outside on the patio with the fountain water in the background. It made for an excellent Sunday. On our way up the canal, we’d also stopped here for Sunday lunch and found it to be a real gem, with excellent food, service, and atmosphere. We bought some of the wine we’d had with lunch at a very reasonable price. Thank you to everyone at Vinauberge.

The lamb leg was cooked just right, and my glass of Sauvignon was lovely and cost €4. I had lunch inside the beautiful garden and got very nice service. I’d definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.

We had a wonderful lunch in the garden during our bike trip along the Canal. We didn’t stay at the auberge, but the food and service were excellent. The garden was cared for so nicely, and we absolutely loved the place.

I’ve known this spot for years, and it’s good to see Vinauberge along the Canal du Midi back in capable hands. I’m sure the current team can give this wonderful restaurant the reputation it deserves. My wife and I had a great lunch on the terrace last week.

The woman running the place was very nice and positive, but the restaurant was only okay. The apartments were spacious, though the interiors were very basic. There were ants inside, so ask reception for spray. Why not spray before guests arrive? The garden needs more care: the grass was left to rot, some pots had odd things in them, and the outdoor areas need painting. There’s only so much that can be called rustic charm. Sun loungers were scattered around, with some broken wheels and broken chairs. A walk around in the evening to tidy things for the next day would help. In short, you pay more than you get. The owners should lower the price or pay a lot more attention to detail.
