Maison Victoire

For one night before my cruise, I stayed at Maison. It’s a really tasteful boutique hotel in central Pointe-à-Pitre, and it seems unlike anything else there. The rooms have nice touches like a Nespresso machine and modern air conditioning, but my stay also brought up a few things that could be better. I slept poorly because my balcony room had windows with no glass, so there was nothing to block the street noise and I woke up very early. Other rooms might not have that problem. The bathroom tub had a handheld shower head but no door, so it felt set up for baths rather than taking a standing shower. Breakfast was confusing: no menu, buffet, or eggs. The waffle and fruit were good, but eggs should be an option, and a menu would help. My room also didn’t have a full-length mirror or mini-fridge. We were looking forward to cocktails on the roof, but there’s a bartender only Thursday through Saturday. I think they should have one every day.

The staff were the best part, so warm and helpful that they made my trip more enjoyable. Breakfast was tasty and filling too. It’s a distinctive, interesting hotel in a renovated old building, and a good base for exploring town.

Maison Victoire is a charming classic in the center of Pointe'a'Pitre, and I’d happily stay there again. The restored building is beautiful, with old-world character alongside modern comforts. The furniture and decor feel carefully chosen, and the atmosphere is welcoming. I also found it well placed for exploring the city and heading out on an island trip to Malendure.

The rooftop bar is a real plus, and breakfast was fantastic. This is a lovely boutique hotel in a central spot in PTP, with friendly, excellent service.
