The GREEN Hostel

WARNING I was there on June 22 with three other people. We waited from 15:30 to 18:30, even though I’d messaged ahead to say I’d arrive early. The hostel cancelled my booking without explaining why. I rang for hours and sent messages, but got no answer. I was with a doctor and a girl from Dominica. If the owner replies, I have a screenshot showing the cancellation time, the payment receipt, and their response claiming they never took money from me. They’re lying. If they aren’t, where’s my money, and why am I writing this? The people I call fraudsters still haven’t refunded me. They’re not trustworthy, reliable, or okay to deal with. They stole my money.

BE CAREFUL, THIS HOSTEL IS CLOSED. THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY AND DON’T REFUND IT. I ENDED UP SLEEPING ON HOSPITAL SEATS!! I arrived during reception hours and had also warned them I might be late. I called every number several times and rang the doorbell repeatedly. Locals told me it was closed. Every message I received was automated. I’ve reported it to the police. EDIT: I arrived at the door around 7:10 pm. We’d agreed I’d arrive between 20:00 and 21:00, and I’d filled out the form mentioned in their reply. I also had the cash ready. There was no response or welcome, even though my booking was confirmed and ready, and they’d sent me a message on Booking just nine minutes before I arrived saying they would welcome me.

The room was fairly spacious, but the bathroom smelled strongly and had cockroaches in it, as the photos show. Paying 100€ for that is outrageous. The clerk seemed bothered to do her job and couldn’t be bothered to give us all the check-in information, though checking in itself was okay. We stayed one night to catch the early boat to Martinique; it’s a good 20-minute walk, if you’re doing the same. EDIT: The reply to this review speaks for itself about the kind of people we’re dealing with. Very professional. To the person who responded, we checked in around 4:30 pm. Look at the terrace photo, it was daytime.

It’s a trap, €60 for a dorm, and they even charged me €20 for arriving at 20:10. They only told me about the charge by email at 9 am that same day, when I couldn’t change my flight or cancel the reservation. I asked to speak to the manager, but the receptionist spoke no English, so I couldn’t get anywhere. You have to make your own bed, the hostel isn’t clean, and the staff were very unfriendly. There’s no soap, no bathroom ventilation, and the room was 30C. Stay away!
