Camping Pomport Beach

The setting is beautiful, but there was no phone signal and Wi-Fi costs extra. The lake was stagnant and filthy, with grey sludge on the bottom in the paddleboard area. The water was so murky that we couldn't even see our feet, so we wouldn't go in. With the pools already overcrowded, there weren't enough facilities for the number of people there. I wouldn't recommend it.

The washing-up areas were the most practical I've ever used, and the bathrooms were spotless. We also had fun on the slides, even as adults 😅, and the pool was clean. There's plenty to do, plus the lake has a sandy beach, and we rented a SUP. The only downside I found was poor reception for phone and internet. There's a Wi-Fi area, though it was a bit slow. Maybe being less connected is part of a holiday anyway 😉 We had a great time and would recommend it.

Sigoules is only a five-minute drive away, with a Carrefour, patisserie, restaurant and bar. For more options, Bergerac and Eymet are about 20 minutes away. The location works really well. We especially like the yelloh accommodation here. It's lovely for young families, and also for anyone after some peace and quiet. The staff are really friendly and helpful, especially Quentin. I'd highly recommend it if you want a break from everyday life.

The lake and beach were superb, especially when the pool got too busy. The kids had a great time, and the entertainment was excellent, with the mini disco particularly out of this world 👍. The bar and restaurant are simple but good, and the facilities are great overall. Our blue cabin/caravan was right at the back of the campsite. It wasn't set up very well, wasn't very clean, and was too small for our family of five. A tent or your own caravan would be a better choice. Do visit the nearby wineries!!
