Château des Périchons

The area is lovely for walks, and we had both dinner and breakfast at the bed and breakfast. Everything was served very well, with simple homemade food and generous portions. We stayed one night and found the welcome very warm. The Marco Polo suite was magnificent and really comfortable. We highly recommend this place.

The owners have passed down a place full of history, with such a nice mix of authenticity and refinement. We were met with warmth and a real human connection. It was a lovely, rejuvenating moment, and exactly the kind of experience we love. Thank you ❤️

The Pompadour room has beautiful finishes, and the other rooms we saw were well maintained too. The whole place was clean, quiet, easy to find, and pleasant, though the service could be better. The continental breakfast left us surprised and disappointed for €24 per person (see photo). Each person gets a pre-packaged croissant. The photo doesn't show that coffee and a few cereals are free, including plain or chocolate cornflakes and muesli. Maybe it was just an off moment, but the welcome was awkward. We heard that we "don't bring the sunshine" and that the weeks before our arrival had been much better, plus some comments about our city, Lyon, and its incivility and insecurity. That didn't make us feel very welcome for a short stay.

The food, suite Pompadour, pool, and rooms for dinner and breakfast were all put together with such a feel for beauty, good food, sharing, and passing things on. My husband and I came to château des Périchons for our third wedding anniversary, and it was simply fabulous. The welcome and all the thoughtful little touches made it special. I’ve never met hosts who seemed to take so much pleasure in their guests’ comfort and well-being. It felt like a sharing of culture and humanity. We’ll definitely come back. A thousand thanks 💜💜
