The restaurant food was good, and the owners were wonderfully kind. There’s plenty of room on the large pitches, most with trees, and the sanitary facilities were kept very clean, with good toilets and hot showers. The campsite also has great access to the river and its own sandy beach.

The fresh water and central location make this a handy base for exploring nearby things to see and do, and I’d recommend it for a few nights. The sandy beach is lovely and private. Road noise is constant, though, and only a few pitches feel secluded. There aren’t many with trees for hammocks or thick shade. The bathrooms are very clean, but there’s no soap.

The bar was friendly and served really nice beer. We had a relaxed stay in a beautiful spot with its own beach on the river, and could head out hiking or cycling right from the campsite. Best site we visited in France during our four-week trip.
