Chalets Nemo du Camping Le Bivouac

The owners were kind and easy to talk to, and getting to Champagnole was quick. Cascades du Herrison is about 15km away. Still, I wouldn't choose this place with kids. The campsite feels dated, and although the pitches are a decent size, around 100-120sqm, there are no water taps nearby, so you have to fetch it from the sanitary building. The WiFi was weak, and the grass looked like it hadn't been cut in what felt like three months. The sanitary building is open to the air, so this seems much better suited to weather above 20*C. We were there in 10-15*C weather, and the shower was warm rather than hot. Stepping back outside into 10*C wasn't pleasant. They also don't provide toilet paper.

Camping le Bivouac works well as a quiet, friendly biker campsite, and the facilities were close by and very clean. My friend and I stayed there for that reason, and the owners were really helpful and friendly. When we had trouble with our tent, they quickly found us a great alternative and saved our holiday. It's also centrally placed for exploring the Jura. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone traveling there.

We could walk around and choose our pitch before paying, and the place was quiet. For 12€ for two people, a car and a tent, it was good value. There's a fun river with good-quality water for swimming. The downside was that the toilets had no seats.

The campsite is in a handy spot for kayaking and mountain biking, and there's a restaurant on site with good pizzas and breakfast. The staff were very friendly and spoke English.
