Le Rocher des Marais

Superb.

We had a really good stay at Rocher des Marais. It’s close to the sea, peaceful, and has a relaxing setting. The rooms were clean and breakfast generous. What stood out most was the welcoming, attentive staff, always available and with a good sense of humor. They showed exemplary professionalism even though the hotel was changing owners and due to close for renovations at the end of the month. Thanks for doing your best to look after us during our holiday, and good luck in what comes next.

Paulo, the hotel manager, deserves a special mention. He was warm, welcoming, professional, and full of helpful advice. If I were a hotelier, I’d hire him without hesitation. The hotel is quiet and relaxing, and we were lucky to get a room with a sea view. Breakfast was excellent, and the location is ideal, just a three-minute walk from the beach and coastal path. After the renovations, I’m sure this place will become a real gem. We had a wonderful stay!

The reception was very good, and breakfast was too. The hotel is well located, but I did witness an argument between staff members. I’d avoid the rooms. There were dirty carpets everywhere, no outlet by the bed, an old closet, and a rusty radiator. Damp had affected the area around the windows, where the wallpaper was peeling. The bathroom grout was badly done and blackened, with no finishing touches at all. For the price we paid, it was really disappointing…
