I left dinner feeling uncomfortable, and I wouldn’t recommend the place. The waiting staff seemed nice, but they didn’t try to communicate in English or check how the food was, even though the half-empty plates made it pretty obvious. The food was lukewarm and soaked in far too much oil, with an awful amount of garlic and no other seasoning. It didn’t seem like the chef had tried what he was making.

The omelette was edible, but the chips were dry and burnt, and the pizza was even worse: it arrived after a 35-minute wait, burnt and dry. Service was practically nonexistent. I asked for salt twice and got empty salt cellars both times, and nearby tables were getting the wrong orders on a fairly quiet day. This used to be a good eatery years ago. Better decor and higher prices don’t make up for giving up on service. They need to get a grip, sack the staff, and set up a system that works if they want to save the business. I sold my own food business for millions, but what do I know? And I can’t call this the world’s worst pizza yet, since I’ve only eaten pizza on four continents and there may still be worse ones out there.

We’ve been coming here for years, and it’s always been a great spot for a meal or a drink. This time I had what might be the best burger ever: a confit of duck burger with bacon, camembert cheese, and rissoles. Don’t miss it.

I enjoyed my dinner, but the others couldn’t eat their lamb chops because they were so overcooked and hard. They were given café gourmand to make up for it.
