LV L'escale

We loved the entrecôte and duck magret, and the food was delicious. The outdoor setting was beautiful, and the service was superb. We felt very welcome even though we spoke no French and they spoke no English.

The woman at the front desk was very nice, but that didn’t make up for losing sleep, sweating in the heat, and swatting mosquitoes. There were no towels or sheets, no a.c. and not even a fan to move the hot air. I had to leave the window open for some relief, which let the mosquitoes in. The place is literally falling apart: the bed collapsed and threw me to the ground when I shifted my weight. You get way less than you pay for here. I wouldn’t have minded those other problems if it had cost 20 euros less.

The food was decent and reasonably priced, and the crew were nice. They had absolutely no knowledge of English, though.

I loved the staff’s hospitality and how open they were to communicating even though I didn’t speak French. A perfect French cousine experience. Merci beaucoup!
