I’d give it zero stars if I could. The place was unbearably hot, and our sea-view room turned out to be the wrong one. Half an hour after we’d unpacked, we were told to move. We packed everything again and ended up on the first floor overlooking the parking lot. People left their front doors open to get some air, while car doors slammed, fuel smelled, and badly behaved guests argued. There are only mustard-yellow curtains on the first floor, no blinds or electric shutters, so they don’t keep the light out. There’s no air conditioning either. You also need a pass to get in and out of Lydia Playa Ghetto. The room was meant for six, but had a fridge for two. There wasn’t enough storage, and the bunk bed was in the main bedroom, so there was no privacy. The dishes were dirty, and the walls, floors, baseboards, furniture, and beds were all damaged and grimy. The bathrooms were especially filthy, and the toilets were beyond description. Cockroaches were already living there without paying rent. Run away. Service was appalling, especially when dealing with Marie. Avoid her like the plague. She wasn’t customer-oriented, made mistakes without taking responsibility, then answered curtly as if we’d caused them. She even complained, despite it being her job. Thankfully, the technicians were decent people who fixed Marie’s blunders and knew how to calm things down. Reception staff may block your number if you call too much. There’s no reception at the Lydia, and no compensation for the problems. If the pool has an issue, don’t expect an explanation, an apology, or any word about when it will reopen, even though you’ve paid. Apparently, people who book through Lagrange Voyages are the only ones treated as decent customers. We booked through a travel agency, and were treated accordingly. There’s no Wi-Fi, so your phone data will take the hit. The TV is the smallest model they could find. There are no activity signs at the entrance. Brochures are available, but nobody answers or returns messages. If you’re on foot, forget it. There’s no bakery, tobacconist, or laundry, just an overpriced casino with lots of missing products. Keep your receipt, as customers get ripped off. Lidl is 2.5 km away, so walking there takes all day. If you have a pet, you have to go to the next town. The only dog-friendly beach is a good hour’s walk away. There are plenty of ice cream shops and restaurants, but they serve salad as a main course and charge ridiculously low prices. The only redeeming feature is the location. I hadn’t taken a vacation in 30 years, and I’m disgusted that I brought my children to such a dump. I’d have been better off breaking a leg. 😫😱🤬😡🤢🤮😭😭😭😭😭

The location is the only thing this residence has going for it. We stayed last December, and found it dirty and run-down, with sticky floors and a bathroom falling apart. We made a complaint and never even got an acknowledgment. We were there as a family, including my 80-year-old father, and the place couldn’t accommodate him. It was a dump. We moved to the Catalana, which was much better, and paid extra for the change. They didn’t offer any goodwill gesture. Several emails and a registered letter got complete silence. Avoid Lydia and be wary of Lagrange Vacances!

For €1200 a week, we got a rental in a deplorable state. The furniture was falling apart as we used it, so arrival turned into an unexpected LEGO activity. The bathroom was dirty, the mirrors rusty, and electrical outlets were broken, like something out of The Shining. Half the dishes and basic items listed on the inventory were missing, turning the stay into an endless game of hide-and-seek. There were no shutters, and it was suffocating. We didn’t sign up for a sauna. The advertised amenities were another problem. The person who greeted us lost our spare key and didn’t answer our calls. The Invisible Woman joined the stay, straight out of a disaster movie. Pool and beach access were the only positives, though there was a fire and ash rained down. Between the misleading advertising and awful service, we won’t return to the LYDIA PLAYA. Absurd enough for a horror screenwriter.

We arrived at our booked accommodation today and were extremely disappointed. The host was unfriendly, and the place was filthy: dirty mirrors, yellow marks on the walls by the bunk beds and on the floor near the fridge, and black fans that hadn’t been cleaned. The view was also nothing like the listing. We expected the sea, but got a rooftop instead. If you’re visiting Barcares, don’t stay at this hotel! 😡😡

The only thing this place has going for it is being near the sea. Otherwise, it’s dirty, dated, unwelcoming, and far too expensive for what you get. I had to clean the apartment myself when we arrived, with dust, sand, and stains everywhere. There was a wet dog smell, and the old, smelly fridge was unusable. The place is in bad shape: the bathroom ceiling looked ready to cave in, and the baseboards seemed eaten away. The sofa bed was terribly uncomfortable, its metal frame digging into my back.
