Apartment in Le Lotus Blanc With Sea View

Our supposedly relaxing annual break turned into a nightmare. There was a construction site right above us, with noise going on for 14 hours a day. We couldn't use the balcony or open the windows from 7:30 a.m. (some days it began as early as 6.45!) until 20.30 or 21.00, since the work kept going that long. The bedrooms had no air conditioning, only the living area did. Even shutting the windows and shutters didn't block the sound, and sitting in a dark room with everything closed wasn't what we'd expected from a place with Wellness. The hotel gave us no warning before booking or while we were arranging it. We arrived on Saturday evening and everything nearby was empty, then the construction started at the beginning of the week. It seems the work was for one of the recurring Events held in that space, and it would continue for probably more than a week after we left, until the Event began. There may be dismantling afterwards, then another use of the space that could require more work. The hotel should tell guests about this ahead of time.
