We got there at 4:30 p.m., the time shown in our reservation email, but waited more than an hour for anyone to show up. We’d paid for a room with a sea view, and there wasn’t one. They gave us no clear information about breakfast either. One morning we had an extra glass of orange juice, and the next morning we got none.

The host seemed completely caught up in running his restaurant. We never saw him or spoke with him, so to me this isn’t a bed and breakfast. It’s a nice hotel room with a view over tarred rooftops and, if you lean out, a glimpse of the sea. Breakfast was just adequate: butter but no jam, eggs, ham, or local specialties, and 25cl of Pampryl fruit juice. The strangest part was having to wash the breakfast dishes ourselves, something you wouldn’t expect when booking. We were disappointed. It felt like a hotel room without hotel service, at hotel prices.

After a delicious meal at the Michelin-starred restaurant, this guesthouse is a convenient way to avoid the drive home. The breakfast was excellent.
