Camping Les Sablons

The pool area is excellent, and the beach is easy to reach. The site is beautifully kept and in a lovely setting, with activities for all ages. It’s very large, though, so expect a brisk walk of about seven minutes to get from one end to the other.

Evenings were the one tricky part for us as parents of a young child. The mini disco and other events could be loud and ran late, which made bedtime around 7 or 8 p.m. harder. I understand they’re also there for older kids and adults, and finding the balance can’t be easy. A little less volume would have helped, though. Yes, I know, I sound like a grumpy Karen, haha. The staff were another highlight. They were kind and helpful, and most spoke excellent English, which made things much easier. The bakery was possibly the best I’ve seen at a campsite: fresh, delicious, and always a treat. It costs a bit more than a regular bakery, but that seems fair. There’s also a huge range of facilities and activities, with plenty for children and adults, whether you come as a family or a couple. We’d definitely recommend it.

Sleep matters a lot to us, especially with small children, and this area was a poor fit. Outdoor clubs and discos in multiple places blasted music until midnight, and other guests were still yelling, talking, and milling around at 1 a.m. or later. It was impossible to sleep before well after midnight. The location between two outdoor camping and glamping sites is great for family fun and water activities. But culturally, we probably just didn’t fit in.

The rooms feel very expensive for the basic comfort they provide. Bedding costs extra if you request it, and one paid set only covers one bed, not every bed.
