Chambres d’hôtes Casarena

We liked staying outside the busy towns of Bonifacio and Porto Vecchio, in a very quiet area with restaurants within walking distance and supermarkets nearby. The rooms were very clean, and Laurent was so welcoming. Ask him instead of relying on tourist brochures, he knows Corsica like a walking guide. Breakfast is continental, which may seem modest by Belgian standards, but there was plenty for us, with delicious coffee. It was always waiting on our terrace at the agreed time.

Moratellu is a charming little village close to Porto Vecchio, and the place was wonderfully peaceful. We had parking and a heated 4x4m pool that was just right for relaxing, with sun loungers, a wooden deck, palm tree, and olive tree. The covered terrace had a large table for six and a griddle. The mini villa also made a great base: the beaches at Santa Giulia, Palombaggia, Tamaricciu, and Rondinara were easy to reach, while Cavu Natural Pools, Piscia de Ghjaddu Waterfall, L'Ospédale Forest, and Bonifacio were about 35-45 minutes away. Inside, the 55m² home felt comfortable and nearly new. There were two bedrooms with closets and good beds, a nice bathroom, electric blinds, a large TV, and a comfy sofa. The kitchen was beautiful and fully equipped, with plenty of storage, an oven, dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer. Laurent was attentive, available, and friendly, with a lovely accent. I was delighted with the stay and would happily come back.

The owner was so kind and shared lots of helpful ideas for our little Corsican break. The rooms are independent and the property sits in greenery, about 15 minutes from Porto Vecchio.

Marina and Laurent looked after us so well during our seven nights. Our room was clean and beautifully decorated, and each morning we had a hearty breakfast on the terrace. The guesthouse is in a lovely setting and makes a good base for exploring southern Corsica. Marina and Laurent also pointed us toward great places to eat and enjoy the scenery.
