The rooms are very nice, with carefully chosen interiors and good products. Staff were friendly, and breakfast was good, with cheese, charcuterie, eggs, sweets and Crêpes. The location is quiet, though a long way from the beach. I hadn't expected the room not to have slippers, or to get only two small bottles of water once, with no refills after that. Still, we had a pleasant stay.

I came away with mixed feelings. It's a good place, but in terms of its hotel rating, it definitely doesn't feel like four stars. A lot of little details, plus the plastic flowers everywhere, made me wonder whether management lacks construction and maintenance skills, and about the design choices. The spa was very good, the restaurant staff were lovely, and the food was great.

For me, this is an average hotel at best, nowhere near four stars. The pool sits in the middle of the building, with every room facing it, so everyone can see into everyone else's room unless the blinds stay shut all day. There's no view of the Corsican mountains or the sea. The design feels very dated, even the plastic grass, and the style reminds me of an old people's home. It's far from the seaside, so you have to drive. The rooms look like they haven't been refurbished since the hotel opened: old furniture, a poor 60s/70s renovation, and a stale, awful damp smell in every room that the air conditioning didn't fix. All the staff are women apart from one teenage boy at breakfast. If you need luggage carried, you have to manage it yourself unless you ask one of the 20-year-old women working there. When I asked at reception for recommendations on places to visit, they could only name the two nearest beaches. The “spa” and “gym” are so tiny that it feels like they push the “AND SPA” part of the name. I wouldn't mind all of this if the room rates were

I booked this four-star hotel for five days at quite an expensive rate, only to be told at check-in that it was fully booked. It's unbelievable and unacceptable for a hotel of this rating to overbook and treat customers this way. I really wouldn't consider staying here in Porto Vecchio.
