Residence Salina Bay, Porto Vecchio, Apartment pool side

I left the property with bedbugs, and Salina Bay refused to take responsibility. I reported it twice at reception but got little help or concern beyond having the bed sheets changed. The customer service was awful. The hallways are dark in the evening, with no windows, and finding the light switches is difficult. The pool bar takes cash only, which is frustrating when you're relaxing by the pool. Definitely not the best experience.

The pool and playground were great for the kids, and our room had everything we needed. The resort is near nice beaches, the city center and the restaurants by the port. There's a supermarket right by the entrance and a very good bakery about a five-minute walk away. We'd love to come back next year.

The apartments are spacious and well equipped, with lovely balconies, and there's a nice pool with a bar. Staff were welcoming, kind and helpful. It's also only a short walk to Porto Vecchio and the marinas. Our room, unfortunately, faced a very noisy construction site just 100m away. Drills, diggers and chainsaws started up at 7:30 in the morning. I asked to move to a room that didn't face it, but they couldn't help. I guess the work will finish sometime in 2024, and then this should be a really great place.

We enjoyed the large pool, the bar beside it and the children's play area. Our apartment was roomy, with a fully equipped kitchen and a big balcony, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The four blocks sit in a lovely landscaped garden overlooking the local salt marshes. A supermarket is a short 200m walk from the gates, and Porto Vecchio is another 500m on. There are lots of cafes and restaurants along the harbours, and a free bus takes you up the steep hill to the citadel, where you can find more places to eat and take in a panoramic view from the ramparts. We spent four nights at Salina Bay and loved it.
