The quiet stretch by the Etang de Gradugine is gorgeous, especially where it opens out, and the beach at plage dè Calzarellu is about five minutes by car or a 50-minute walk. Parking there gets busy, but the beach to the right is quieter and also suits naturists. That was one of the highlights of our few days at Camping Via Romana, where we left our car for €2.50 a day while hiking the 6 day Mara a mare Centre route in the Corsican mountains. There are only a few tent pitches, since the site is mostly caravans and small bungalows. Our pitch was reasonably priced, with hedges giving decent shade and privacy. The grounds were clean and green, though not especially cosy. Families with children and some older guests were staying there too. The pool is nice, and the snack bar serves simple food and drinks. Toilets, showers and the washing area were clean, but access ran on a coin system, with a coin collected at reception for the whole stay. Honestly, that was a bit annoying: no coin, no restroom. The woman at reception and the rest of the staff were friendly. Ghisonaccia village isn't far, and there's a casino supermarket on the way. I'd recommend the campsite without hesitation; it works well for a few days.

The staff are lovely and very helpful, and the bungalows are clean and well kept. There's a big car park, though you can also leave your car right outside your bungalow. The site has three pools plus a paddling pool, and a great bar and restaurant with good quality food at very reasonable prices. One thing to plan for: the beach is a few kilometres away. If you arrive before 5 pm, you can't drive in to unload your luggage, so you'll need to wait until then.

We found it clean, quiet and very pleasant, and the welcome was warm. When something went wrong, it was sorted out that same day. The restaurant is friendly too, and sits right beside the pool, which is handy. I'd definitely recommend staying here.
