Every dish was great, and the food and wine were fantastic. The service was good too, and all the servers spoke English. We sat outside by the bushes under a bright light, though, and it drew in bugs that made the second half of the meal less enjoyable. Even so, it was a very good experience.

The food was clearly high quality, and the service was impeccable in this lovely setting at a family-run restaurant. Some of the pairings felt a little odd, and it was rather rich for our taste, though that may just be our palate. Still, it was a wonderful experience.

We loved the cozy, relaxing hotel and its lovely views over the vineyards and lavender fields. Our dinner at Entre Vigne and the restaurant was unforgettable. The chef was approachable and welcoming, and we even saw him mowing the grass with a big smile, clearly enjoying himself. We loved his happy nature. It was a pleasure to stay at the hotel and dine at his restaurant. Thanks to the whole team.

The food and chefs were outstanding, and meeting Maxime at the end of the evening was a highlight. He was friendly and clearly very talented. But the dinner service on our first night was so bad that I wouldn’t recommend repeating the experience. We’d booked two nights in October as a highlight of our month-long French road trip: a converted farmhouse in the countryside, rustic and casual, with excellent food and rooms upstairs. It sounded perfect. We enjoyed the tasting menu, but our server made us feel inferior for not speaking fluent French. For nearly four hours, he started out speaking only rapid French, looking down at us as we tried to follow, without helping us understand what was happening. I’ve eaten at many restaurants across France, and usually servers find some way to communicate even when my French is broken. They might appreciate the effort or find it funny, and either is fine with me. This server seemed to take himself far too seriously. After the aperitif, we waited about 45 minutes for another drink, including while eating the first starter. It was frustrating during a long celebratory meal, especially since we were staying upstairs and there were only five tables in the room, yet we couldn’t get the server’s attention. Midway through, he showed that he spoke decent English and explained some dishes. But when the cheese trolley came out, something I’d really looked forward to, he switched back to French and chose all the cheeses for us while we were asking about them and explaining our preferences. It made for an awkward, expensive evening. We’d planned to dine there two nights in a row, but after that first night we cancelled the second dinner and went into Avignon for sushi instead.
