Camping de La Sole Lodge

That quiet afternoon at the campsite did us a lot of good. We spent Wednesday relaxing by the pool, and when we came back, the indoor water was wonderfully warm. Too bad the jacuzzi wasn’t available, but we still had a fantastic stay. There were two of us, staying three nights at Camping de la Sole as a base for seeing the Lot region over four days. We were warmly welcomed, and it’s a lovely spot. I’d especially recommend it out of season. Thanks for the peace and quiet, and have a wonderful holiday.

We spent a week there in our caravan and would gladly recommend the campsite. The owners are kind and always happy to help, and the staff made us feel very welcome. Everything was clean, from the neatly mown grass to the spacious, shady pitches. The vegetation is lovely too. A beautiful campsite in the Lot, and a real delight to stay at.

We left at 5:30 pm with all four of our children after the owner aggressively told our two 9-year-old boys they couldn’t use the pool in their swim trunks. He shouted in a way that felt completely over the top, and his manner came across as contemptuous and inappropriate. There was no attempt to talk it through or find a calm solution. We’d booked a week to explore the region and had just settled in, after finding the water park quite pleasant. The welcome, though, was appalling. Luckily a nearby campsite had a much more welcoming manager who found us a place at short notice. We’re better off there, and in the end we’re glad this experience led us to such a fantastic, pleasant campsite. I strongly advise anyone looking for even a little respect and kindness to avoid this place.

We left feeling really relaxed, and pleasantly surprised by what a great find this was. The setting is lovely, with plenty to explore nearby, and the bar and snack bar were nice places to wind down at the end of the day. The facilities were clean and handy, too, especially the well-placed restrooms. It’s a family-run campsite with a friendly atmosphere, and the managers were welcoming and helpful throughout our fantastic three days. Kids have lots to do, from the pool with its water features and slides to the play area with football and basketball, ping-pong, and a trampoline. The jacuzzi was a real treat for the parents while the children were in the pool.
